Terms of use

The short version: this website is general information, not advice. Anything we actually do for you is governed by a signed engagement letter.

Using this site

You may read, print and share pages from this site for your own business purposes. You may not republish the content as your own, or present our fee tables or calculators as your own.

No professional advice

Nothing on this site is professional advice. Deadlines, rates and thresholds change, and whether they apply to you depends on facts we do not know from a web form. Before you act on anything here, ask us — a short email is enough.

Where we do advise you, that advice is given in writing, addressed to your entity, and governed by the engagement letter you sign. If something on this site conflicts with an engagement letter, the letter wins.

Fee estimates and calculators

The calculators on this site produce an indicative figure from the published Guangdong fee basis and our own rate card. They are not a quotation. Your fixed fee is the number in the written quote we send you, and it does not change once the scope is agreed.

Intellectual property

The text, layout and downloadable guides on this site belong to us. Our reports belong to the client that commissioned them, and we do not publish or share them.

Limitation of liability

We take care over what we publish, but we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on general information on this site. Liability for professional work is set out in the engagement letter, and is covered by our professional indemnity arrangements in the usual way for a PRC practice.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Disputes are handled in Guangzhou, in the manner agreed in the relevant engagement letter.
